What you need before you start pairing

Before pairing a helmet intercom with other devices, make sure the preparation work is ready.

How to pair helmet intercom with intercom?

The pairing methods for Bluetooth intercom and Mesh intercom differ. Here, we use the Moman H2S (Bluetooth intercom for two) and Moman CP-X (mesh intercom for group riders) as examples.

First, make sure the devices are fully charged and correctly installed on your helmet.

Pairing two intercoms

1. Turn on both devices: Long-press the on/off button for 3 seconds. Wait for the blue indicator to flash slowly.

2. Short-press the intercom button on ONE intercom to enter intercom mode. The red and blue lights flash quickly.

3. Wait 2 seconds to enter pairing mode, and the red and blue lights will flash quickly.

4. Once paired, the blue lights on both intercoms will stay on.

Pairing with the Mesh group

1. Turn on all the devices: Long-press the on/off button for 3 seconds. Wait for the blue indicator to flash slowly.

2. Long-press the intercom button for 3 seconds to enter intercom mode.

3. Set all intercoms to Mesh mode:

Open Mesh Mode: Short-press the intercom button to enter Open Mesh Mode.

Group Mesh Mode: After entering Open Mesh Mode, long-press for 3 seconds to enter Group Mesh Mode. Triple press the intercom button to enter channel setting (1-6).

4. All units on the same Mesh channel will auto-connect within range. No manual pairing needed between each rider.

Note: To switch channels, rotate the knob clockwise or counterclockwise. When you hear 1/2/3/4/5/6, short-press the knob to save the channel and wait 2 seconds to complete pairing.

How to pair helmet intercom with smartphone?

1. Turn on the device: Long-press the on/off button for 3 seconds.

Note: If the intercom is in intercom mode, long-press the intercom button for 3 seconds to exit intercom mode.

2. The blue indicator flashes and enters Bluetooth mode. After the first successful pairing, it will pair automatically with your phone.

3. Open Bluetooth settings on your phone. Look for the device name (e.g., "Moman CP-X") in the available devices list.

4. Tap to pair. The blue indicator stays on after the pairing is successful.

Common pairing problems and fixes

When the pairing goes wrong, the cause is often something simple. Below are the most common issues riders face, along with easy fixes to get you back on the road with clear communication.

Phone can't find the intercom Bluetooth pairing mode not activated Turn on the H2S/CP-X and wait for the blue indicator to flash and enter Bluetooth pairing mode.
Then search for the device on your phone and connect.
Two intercoms won't pair Existing intercom connection not cleared Clean previous pairings on both units and restart the pairing process.
Make sure both devices are in intercom pairing mode before connecting.
Intercom disconnects while riding Low battery or Bluetooth signal obstruction Fully charge the headset before riding. Keep your phone close to the headset and avoid placing it inside metal storage compartments.
Audio works but your voice isn't transmitted Microphone not properly connected or positioned Check that the microphone plug is securely connected. Position the microphone close to your mouth and ensure the pickup side faces your lips.
Excessive wind noise during riding Microphone exposed to direct airflow Install the microphone behind the chin bar, use the supplied foam windscreen, and keep the microphone away from direct wind.
Intercom range is shorter than expected Obstacles, terrain, or riders too far apart Maintain a clear line of sight whenever possible and keep riders within the recommended intercom range for more stable communication.
